About Me

I bet you remember your childhood dream job. When I was in elementary school I wanted to be a teacher. In high school, I believed I was destined to become the next NFL videographer. I went to school for video production and landed my first job in marketing. I quickly learned that my career was not a straight line. With that said, I focused on what I loved which were people, and finding ways to support them. It was through the magic of networking I landed in talent acquisition, more commonly known as recruiting.

As a recruiter, I loved learning about everyone’s career journey and aspirations. I was picking up on so many different jobs I had never heard about. One I’d like to highlight is something called a packaging engineer.

A profession I knew nothing about. I had so many questions. How do you break into packaging? How do you even know to study packaging in school?

Shortly thereafter, I had the opportunity to recruit my very first packaging engineer. I learned so much in a matter of three or four conversations. I was going to the store and picking out what I had learned looking at over-the-counter medication packaging.

I also dove deep into all areas of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry learning about quality, regulatory, labeling and so much more.

When I decided to make the switch from supporting candidates to clients I quickly realized I was taking for granted hundreds of impactful conversations. As I continued to stay in touch with my large network of life science professionals we’d joke about creating content in the form of books to teach children at a young age about different professions in the life sciences.

However, that still didn’t satisfy my thirst to disseminate the cool stories and advice I hear on a daily basis. It was on a nightly call with my Grandpa that the idea struck me. I was going to create a podcast to teach others about some of the different careers in STEM, and what those paths may look like.

I began to float this idea to some of my connections in my network and found they were more than happy to share their journeys and advice they wished they had earlier on. After that, the only thing left to do was rope my husband into being my production assistant, and here we are now.

I hope you become inspired and find something to take away in each episode. The goal of the podcast is to teach others about what careers are out there, how you might get into that profession, and advice from people who have done it.
